Whenever proposing a plan that includes a lot of pumping, I always say, "This may sound like a weird product, but a lot of mothers like a hands-free pumping rig, either purchased or home-made, or I'll offer to help them rig one up by cutting slits in the cups of an old, snug bra, that they just pull over their flaps-down nursing bra for the pumping sessions.
Putting a big shirt, borrowed from their husband, over the whole rig can help them not tense up over watching the milk come out, and helps her feel less self-conscious if there are older children or other helpers who might walk in.
