Hygeia: Newest Breast Pump on the Block

For today’s post, I am breaking from my normal advice-oriented content to fill you in on a recent discovery. Full disclaimer: it is a product created by a good friend of mine, but I truly believe that this new breast pump will become your nursing must-have. The line is called Hygeia and it is the first breast pump company to be “green,” meaning that this pump is certified by the FDA to be a multiple-user pump. No more worrying about the use of someone else’s contaminated pump or dumping so many pumps in our landfills. All you need to pass the pump on to your girlfriend is the purchase of a new kit and sharing your pump is risk-free! Definitely a great advancement for our increasingly eco-conscious world!

Hygeia pumps are internal piston pumps working much the same as a hospital grade rental pump. There are two setting dials so you can adjust both the speed and suction unlike other popular pumps on the market that only have the choice of one setting.

My favorite features include a standard size 27 breast shield, larger than the size 24 shield that comes with other pumps that is usually too small for most mothers. The other feature that I love is that mothers will not have problems with condensation, mold and milk getting into their tubings because Hygeia’s flange and valve system is superior.

Also, the pump line added a new and very innovative feature: you can record your baby’s voice or any other sounds to play while you are expressing your milk, all designed to enhance your pumping experience.
